LAWRENCE, Kan. – The 2015 U.S. Women’s Amateur Qualifier was hosted at Lawrence, Kansas, on Monday, July 13. The 46-female golfer field arrived early as they battled one another for the four qualifying spots.
Lawrence Country Club a par-70, 6,240-yard course. In 2006, LCC renovated the course to enhance its challenge for all levels of play. It is one of only two country clubs in the state of Kansas with bent grass tee boxes, fairways and greens.
Vanessa Ha was the overall winner at the U.S. Women’s Amateur Qualifier as she fired 72 (+2), including three birdies on the day. Jayna Choi won the second qualifying spot as she posted 73 (+3), one stroke behind Ha.
Alison Hovatter won the third qualifying spot, inking 74 (+4) on her scorecard. Hovatter fired four birdies on the day. The fourth qualifying came down to a playoff between Monica Dibildox and Summar Roachell as they both shot 75 (+5). Dibildox achieved the fourth qualifying spot, making Roachell the first alternate. Amanda Kim is the second alternate, as she posted 76 (+6).
The 2015 U.S. Women’s Amateur Championship will be hosted at Portland Golf Club in Portland, Oregon, on August 10-16.
