The third Stateline Amateur Tour event of the season was held at the Nicklaus Club at Lionsgate on Tuesday, May 30. The field was comprised of 103 players. In the open division, Alex Forristal fired a sizzling 7-under par, 65 to claim medalist honors. Forristal got off to a hot start, making an eagle, two, on his first hole. He went out in 4-under, 32, and made four more birdies on the back nine, before finishing with a bogey on his final hole. Chris Beaubien and Nate Steinwart both tied for second place in the open division with scores of one-under, 71.
There was a four-way tie for first place in the players division. Kevin Rome, Addie Chapin, Michael Buckhouse, and Ritch Nigh all fired two-over par, 74. Steve Groom lead the way in the senior division. Groom carded a bogey-free, 3-under, 69, on Tuesday. He edged Brad Gaeddert by a shot. There was a two-way tie for third between Mark Addington and David Hamilton with scores of one-over, 73.
Ron Brewer won the legends division with a score of two-over, 74. Bob Bezek fired a three-over, 75, good enough for second place. Rounding out the legends division in third was Fran Ferns who scored a five-over, 77.
