Chase Hanna, the 2015 Watson Challenge champion, fired a 3-under par 69 to take a 1-shot lead after the opening round of the 2017 Watson Challenge. The highlight of Hanna’s round was an eagle 2 at the par-4 13th.
Andy Spencer, Chris Mabry and Steve Groom all shot 2-under par 70 to share 2nd place.
Tom Watson struggled a bit, firing a 4-over par 76 that put him in a tie for 20th.
