In all, seven players were awarded individual tournament championships and seven players took home SLAT Player of the Year honors.

Gregory Diederich won the Open Division tournament title, posting an even-par, 72.

The Open Division Player of the Year went to Matt Kelley.

Kelley, who appeared in nearly every SLAT event, captured individual titles at Loch Lloyd and Stone Canyon earlier in the year.

To go with his two individual titles, Kelley added two runner-up finishes at Ironhorse Golf Club and Tiffany Greens Golf Club.

Unsurprising to many, Steve Groom not only won the tournament championship, but also took home the Senior Division Player of the Year.

Groom posted a one-under, 71 at Sycamore Ridge to seal his Player of the Year award.

To go with his Tour Championship victory, Groom posted wins at Stone Canyon and Tiffany Greens, as well as, tied for first at the Creekmoor Golf Club event.

Logan Truninger followed Groom’s lead by making a clean sweep of the Players Gross Division at Sycamore Ridge. Truninger posted a three-over, 75 en route to wrapping up his Player of the Year award.

The Player’s Net Division honors also went to the same person. Greg Hillman posted a net one-under, 71 and jumped from fourth place to first to claim his title.

Jim Seward also claimed both the tournament title and Player of the Year honors for the Legend’s Division.

Seward shot a three-under, 69 and ran away with the Player of the Year points.

On the Legend’s Net side, John Pawsat also won both titles. Pawsat’s two-under, 70 sealed his tournament and tour awards.

Parrott Captures Boys Match Play Championship

Sam Parrott wasted no time taking the lead over No. 1 seed Joe Bultman.

Out of the gate, Parrott took a one-up lead on the first hole and never trailed.

He eventually built a 3 up lead through six holes.

Bultman made two late pushes in the match, cutting Parrott’s lead to two holes on No. 7 and again on No. 14.

However, Parrott would eventually take a 3 up lead on No. 15 and close out the match on No. 16 by halving the hole with Bultman. Parrott secured his title with a 3 and 2 victory.

Parrott knocked off the No. 7 seeded Christian Ghilardi in the semifinals and defeated No. 3 seed Garrett Clark in the quarterfinals.

Bultman Cruises to Finals, Parrott Outlasts Ghilardi

Two golfers punched their tickets to Sunday’s Kansas City Boys Match Play Championship finals in two very different fashions.

Joe Bultman, the tournament’s No. 1 overall seed, wasted little time or holes Saturday, notching victories of 7 and 6, as well as, 8 and 7 in the quarterfinals and semifinals, respectively.

Bultman squared off with Andrew Cunningham, the No. 8 seed, in the quarterfinals and built a 3 up lead through eight holes. The top seed went on to win the next four holes to close out the match after 12 holes.

His semifinals match followed nearly the same script against No. 7 seed Jack Seiler. Bultman never trailed in the match and had a 3 up lead through six holes before claiming the next five holes and yet another victory.

Awaiting Bultman in the finals is Sam Parrott.

Parrott pulled the upset card in the quarterfinals, where he edged No. 3 seed Garrett Clark 2 and 1. Each golfer held a 2 up lead at one point in the match, but Parrott eventually swayed momentum back in his favor after 16 holes. Parrott sealed the match on No. 17, and set up a semifinal match up with No. 7 seed Christian Ghilardi.

Ghilardi and Parrott needed 19 holes to settle the semifinal match.

Parrott never trailed in the match, but was never able to build more than a one hole advantage.

Ghilardi managed to get the match back to all square on the eighteenth hole, but Parrott ended the match on the very next hole, sealing his trip to the final match against Bultman.

Bultman and Parrott square off Sunday for the championship match.
