Welcome to our College Golf Hub – designed for information and resources for junior golfers to prepare for their next step after their junior golf career ends. We hope this hub will be useful to junior golfers no matter their age or where they are in the process.

Through this hub, you can find testimonials from college coaches and former junior golfers, recruiting guidelines and calendars, tournament advice and staff contacts among many other resources. This page is also a resource for high school and college golf coaches to connect with Central Links Golf staff and its junior golfers. Central Links Golf Events to Consider:

You should consider the following CLG Tournaments if you want to gain high level tournament experience and awareness from college coaches.

  • Junior Tournaments:
    • Kansas City Junior Championship: 2 day stroke play, handicap index requirement, approximate yardage 6900 (Boys) and 5700 (Girls)
    • Kansas Junior Amateur Championship: 3 day stroke play, most competitive junior field, approximate yardage 6900 (Boys) and 5700 (Girls)
    • CLG Junior Match Play Championship: New Improved Competitive Format, Pod Play match play and multi day Championship
    • Junior Tour: New in 2025, an Open division designed for anyone regardless of age to play from a longer yardage and compete against the best in the tournament
    • Junior Tour Championship: Qualify for either the KCJT or KJT Championship and play in the Open division
  • Men’s Tournaments:
    • Watson Challenge: KC Area residents only, WC Junior Qualifier open to juniors under certain handicap index
    • Kansas Amateur Championship: Qualify for the State Amateur, most competitive men’s event we have, stroke play to match play, approximate yardage over 7,000
    • The Railer: three day stroke play with competitive yardage and field
    • Kansas City Amateur: three day stroke play with competitive yardage and field
    • USGA Qualifiers: we host a handful of USGA Qualifiers (US Amateur, US Open Local, US Four-Ball)
  • Women’s Tournaments:
    • CLG Women’s Match Play: state wide match play championship with college players and competitive yardage
    • Kansas Women’s Amateur: 54 hole stroke play State Amateur with most competitive field and college coaches on site, college level yardage and field
    • Prairie Invitational: 54 hole stroke play, open to professionals and amateurs, elite level Women’s tournament, competitive yardage and field
    • USGA Qualifiers: US Women’s Amateur
